So! Two weeks ago… probably three now… I moved. I now live in the beautiful state of North Carolina where I have wanted to live since I was but a child. I am SO grateful to be here! TOO GRATEFUL! I just can’t thank God enough for this opportunity, this time, and this BEAUTY! I am SO thankful for all He has done in my life, and I am too thrilled to share the opportunity with YOU, so… hold me to it! Make sure I never forgot to involve you in my journey. (You can do that by commenting on the journey, sharing your thoughts, asking questions, and tapping in!!!)

Let’s start at the beginning…

Buh-bye Florida!

On Saturday, May 18th, 2019, Regina and I woke up ‘fo dawn in the morning (as they say). My plan was to get us up as early as possible so we could arrive by 6p. [Our hostess(es) wanted to treat us to dinner, so I planned for us to arrive in timely enough a manner for that. (That didn’t happen at all, but we’ll get to that point.)]

We left Regina’s house at 6:06a, and I was out of Florida 25 mins later at 6:31a.

I’d say that the drive was a bit tedious. It was long. The anticipation of a long drive was more tedious than the actual drive itself. I was tired most of the time but too amp’d to let it get to me.

It was a good visit!

We left Florida. Then, we were in Georgia.

The same happened when I moved before. I was in Florida.

First, I was born and raised in Jacksonville. Then, I moved to Tampa and Orlando. Then, I moved to Atlanta, GA, and here I was again moving from Florida, through Georgia, en route to Carolina.

Hey Georgia!

(Please ignore the fact that I’ve taken these photos while driving. That wasn’t the worst thing about my driving… the worst thing was that my visibility was grossly obstructed by everything I had in the car. YIKES!)

Luckily, I’d spent my unnecessary waking hours finding little gems for us to visit along the way. Our first stop… Smallest Church in America! How appropriate! (We’ll talk about why later.)

Smallest Church in America, Townsend, GA
Hey Regina!
Smallest Church in America

Smallest Church in America can hold about 15 people comfortably, which includes the preacher.

I thought it mighty nice to visit such a staple on this journey. I’d never taken this type of road trip before and was happy to make several stops along the way. The next stop was of historical, cultural, and educational significance to me.
