“I get the concept, but it’s not Biblical. When we pray, we have to ask according to His will.
We cannot, nor will we ever, be able to speak things into existence.
All we can do is pray with faith to the One who can.
” =D Interesting. I’d challenge you to rethink that position. The Bible—imparted to us by God—starts with the Genesis of how this world was created. God SPOKE things into existence. If there were any other story that He wanted to be told first, He’d have had it that way. Yet, He presented the creation of all mankind with the very detailed descriptions of how He spoke things into existence. He then took high time to create man in his image (with the goal and capacity and exampling for us get up and do the same). Why else would the story happen in such a manner? Not at all coincidental.
In this Genesis (i.e. in the beginning) was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God. (Ref: John 1:1-13) Don’t take lightly that this word, being simply that, is also the person of Jesus Christ. Didn’t say thought/action/deed/intention. It said word, which implies the power of speaking. Speaking is a form of execution. It is the process/practice/result of faith (in Jesus Christ).
The Word in the above reference is Jesus Christ = Author and Finisher of Faith, and this all exists by the power of our words (i.e. in confession). Didn’t say belief/thoughts/intentions, but confession—insinuating that it is the power of what is verbal/spoken. Power exists in Jesus Christ—not only in the person of Him, but power in the name (i.e. saying/speaking the name “Jesus (Christ)”. Even the steps to salvation within the Bible include instruction to confess with your mouth (to “speak” and “say”). Ref: Romans10:9-10 For with the heart (i.e. feeling and even faith) we believe, and with the mouth we SPEAK toward that faith.
Matt 12:34/Luke 6:45 — Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks = Out of the abundance of the belief/faith, the mouth decrees/declares salvation!!! Understanding that God gives us the desires of our hearts (i.e. He imparts to us the things which we should desire or have in our hearts), why wouldn’t we then be able to speak things into existence? If that is not true, what then is the power and purpose of prayer? And why then would we be guided to speak to mountains? wink emoticonNow, any person who doesn’t understand having our heart’s desires being placed within us, must first understand that salvation guides us to be Christ-like—old things become new. Old desires are replaced with new ones, and we are then able to speak out of new abundance because of the power of Christ, not ourselves.
Also, we don’t always have to pray according to God’s will. There are examples within the bible of God giving man his own will, even if it was counterproductive (or not). All of that being the case, perhaps maybe it’s just that I would like to take a more active approach to it all which allows me to put more power behind my faith, my prayers and my God. We were not created simply to stumble upon blessings or desired outcomes. We have the power to demonstrate our level of faith and the power of Jesus Christ by putting into practice exactly what God did by Speaking Things Into Existence. I promise you, it’s works! Don’t take my word for it. Take God’s! The Word = Jesus Christ himself!
Thank you for the well wishes! You be blessed as well!”
