GREETINGS!

I received a GREAT Question from an aspiring life coach in my inbox this morning:

“I’ve always wanted to ask you…

What was the final push that made you want to be a Life Coach and speak in front of people?”

As I am sure many of you have the same types of questions for me, I decided to share the insight. Read through the conversation, and continue to ask me whatever questions come to mind! ENJOY!

I’ve always wanted to ask you what was the final push that made you want to be a Life Coach and speak in front of people. I have to commend you on it !!! I’ve always wanted to for my generation but thought no one would listen.

CoachDNicole!

Great question! I always wanted to study Psychology. I ended up doing that and working in Corporate America. As a result of my participation in a minority internship program (INROADS, Inc.), I was exposed to the arena of professional development, which I loved. That sparked my interested in training and development. I am not sure how (or when) I came across the concept of Coaching specifically, but when I did, I was immediately interested. I mentioned that “in passing” to an associate of mine and he directed me to the attention of a young lady with a certification program, and I dove in. Prior to, I had been looking at other programs, but never committed likely due to the detached methods of certification. It’s been a joyous adventure, and I am loving every moment of it.

Speaking is something I’ve always done in some capacity or another. My overall goal is to be a world renown speaker and author. Life Coaching is a means to that end.

I don’t have a fear that no one will listen. At one point, I wanted to validate my credibility by adding “PhD” to my name, but quickly got over that after my employer was no longer paying for it. I am a vessel being used by God and I LOVE IT!

I see you on FB and your blog and it’s so motivating to me what you say to the young ladies of your generation. I look around at some of the women my age that act like they are still in their teens–low self esteem issues–and I wonder, “How can you be the age you are and not have matured A LITTLE BIT!!!?” I just want to speak to them and show them they deserve better than what they are doing!

CoachDNicole!

I’d say the best way to do that is to create “something” and invite people to attend. Women LOVE to talk (and listen and be listened to), so create a “something” where you’re able to impart your insight, and they’ll LOVE IT!
