Preparing for the Jacksonville Women in Business Expo

So! The 1st Annual Jacksonville Women in Business Expo went GREAT! My manager and I had a WONDERFUL time attending, and I am SO fortunate to have had her present that day as most everything I was able to accomplish was purely as a result of her selflessness and… STUBBORNESS! (Shhhhh… don’t tell her I said that!) She is SUCH a JOY to have around as I embark on this journey! Words simply cannot relay the pure humility and EXTREME gratitude I feel for being blessed to have her on #TeamD!!! Her value is immeasurable!!! There is no other way to put it!

I mentioned to you within the prior post that I was one of the featured speakers for this event! I conducted a brief presentation on MARKETING and BRANDING!!! (YOURSELF and YOUR BUSINESS!) Another young lady, Tie Cooper, started off the line up of speakers with a detailed presentation on skin care. There were a couple presentations regarding health and fitness and even a Zumba presentation where we were all able to DANCE the cupid shuffle!!! With your right foot… STOMP! With your left foot… just STOMP! You cha-cha to right! (and so on and so forth) It was really cool!

In the days leading up to my presentations, I always always have a hard time sleeping because seems that all of my ideas like to come at the same time that sleep should. Oh bother! While preparation is always an exciting time for me, the process also finds me wholly unprepared for all of the after hours LIGHT BULB!!! moments that interfere with an already shaky sleep schedule! Most of the moments of enlightenment for this business expo centered around how I could best grab the attention of not just my audience but the attention of everyone within reach of my voice (and I did not use a mic!).

How exactly could I do that?!

Hmmm…. I wonder…. But what if… I could try…. so… nights and nights of this!!! Until I saw my niece! IMMEDIATELY the thought came to me of what I could do to grab (and maintain without much effort) the attention of those within a business expo setting! SO! I did it! It worked SOOOOOOOOOO well, that… it actually scared me once I consciously acknowledged what I had done (and this bit happened while I was speaking, of course. smh).

WOW!

(…aaaannnnnndddddd you’ll have to tune in yet AGAIN to hear what I did!)

Talk to You Soon!
